House Passes Credit Exchange Extension

The House of Representatives passed the extenders bill on Wednesday with a one year extension for the 9% credit exchange program. It is unclear how quickly the Senate will consider the extenders bill, as one of the revenue-raising provisions in the bill, the so-called carried interest provision, is controversial in the Senate, and the Senate is still consumed with working on health insurance reform.

Three things you can do now to support the campaign:

  1. Contact Senate Finance and Banking Committee members and ask that they sign the Kerry/Cantwell Dear Colleague letter currently circulating.
  2. Please continue to contact House Ways & Means members, especially through in-person meetings, to urge them to contact Chairman Rangel in support of the ACTION proposals, especially the carryback for existing housing and proposal to broaden the investor base. One concrete "ask" can be to ask your Representative to cosponsor the Pascrell bill (H.R. 4109).
  3. Contact local media, especially those outlets located in districts of House Ways & Means Committee members and states of Senate Finance Committee members, to urge them to editorialize in favor of our proposals, such as those editorials from the San Francisco Chronicle and LA Times

CDLAC Wants Info on 2010 Requests

The California Debt Limit Allocation Committee (CDLAC) is preparing 2010 reservations for the various CDLAC Program Pools.  While preparing these reservations, several factors will be taken into consideration such as CDLAC priorities, past year usage, and anticipated demand.  Worksheets have been developed to assist with the collection of information necessary to develop next year's reservations. Any potential applicant, project sponsor or other related party is encouraged to reply. Demand surveys should be emailed to cdlac@treasurer.ca.gov no later than December 31, 2009.  Multifamily housing issuers who completed the CDLAC October 19th survey need not reply to the QRRP portion of this survey. The survey is here.
