Call Congress for Tax
Credit Reform |
|
Things are moving quickly in Congress with the
Senate poised for action on extending the first-time
homebuyer credit and LIHTC net operating loss carryback.
Because we have a narrow window for action, we strongly
encourage each one of your and the organizations you
represent to contact Congress immediately, especially
through in-person meetings and phone calls, to support
our proposals.
A multitude of resources, including a sample
letter, are available on our website under Advocacy Tools.
Please contact your Members of Congress and the
U.S. Senate (a list of the SD members is here) to urge them to support the
consensus proposals for upcoming tax legislation. These
proposals would stimulate and maintain Housing Credit
investment while ensuring that desperately needed
affordable housing continues to be built in the short
term. The impact of the LIHTC program on
California is an estimtated $1.14 billion in
additional equity through 2011 if these provisions are
adopted. |
