The last roundtable of the "Affordable Housing Roundtable Series" takes place Thursday, November 5th at NTC Command Center. The topic is "Report Card on San Diego's Mental Health Services Act Housing Program" and will discuss what has happened over the last three years of the program and what the future holds.

 

Come learn about the "MHSA Pipeline," including projects that have been approved for funding and others on the horizon. The panel will be moderated by Simonne Ruff from the Corporation for Supportive Housing. The San Diego Housing Commission is holding a stakeholders' meeting to get input on the future of the City's commercial linkage fee program.  A recent audit by the City Auditor noted that the fee, which is the only source of funding for the Housing Trust Fund, has not been changed since 1996 when it was reduced.  The ordinance requires that it be reviewed annually.  The Land Use & Housing Committee asked the Housing Commission to update the nexus study and bring recommendations back next summer.  The committee also asked that the Commission on Revenue and Competitiveness review the fee as well for its impact on the business community. 

 

The purpose of the stakeholders meeting is to identify issues that should be studied as part of the nexus study.  It is scheduled for Thursday, November 19th from 9-11 a.m. at the Housing Commission offices at 1122 Broadway, Fourth Floor Conference Room, San Diego, California 92101.  Anyone that wants to attend should RSVP to Angie Risotti-Rios (619.578.7532) or angier@sdhc.org.
