On Wednesday, the San Diego City Council's Land Use and Housing Committee heard a presentation on the San Diego Housing Commission's Plan to borrow $102.5 million against the equity in the former public housing units to acquire as many as 1,035 new units. The committee was very supportive of the proposal and forwarded to the Housing Authority. 

 

Rick Gentry, SDHC CEO, said he hoped to have the proposal on the October 6, 2009 Housing Authority Agenda.  The plan is available at here.

TCAC Schedules Additional Workshop

The CA Tax Credit Allocation Committee (TCAC) has scheduled another Southern California mandatory ARRA workshop. All applicants that have received a preliminary reservation of ARRA funds are required to attend one of the workshops in Los Angeles or Northern California. The workshops will provide an overview of the loan process, disbursement procedures, reporting requirements, and federal requirements including environmental review, Davis-Bacon prevailing wages, and Section 504 compliance.
