Please Call Assemblyman George Plescia

San Diego's Assembly Member George Plescia from the 75th District is the key to getting the Republicans in the Legislature to support including the expiring Proposition 46 programs in the infrastructure bonds.  He told a State Chamber of Commerce town hall meeting in Sacramento this week that he can support homeownership, but not rental subsidy programs.  He and the other Republicans continue to believe that the programs are grants to individuals, not bricks and mortar construction programs.

He also told the lunch crowd that the best way to influence his vote is to "clog the phone lines." He doesn't pay as much attention to emails, letters and faxes.  So, it is vital that we clog his phone lines, whether you live in his district or not.  Call (916) 319-2075.

Let him know that the Prop 46 funds have built new homes that house the employees of businesses large and small.  This is not a rental subsidy program for welfare recipients, but adds to the supply of housing. Get the Facts at: http://www.housingsandiego.org/documents/Support_AH_2006.pdf

The rest of the state is counting on San Diegans to convince Mr. Plescia to change his mind.  It is up to each of your and your staffs and friends and families to make the calls.
