The City of San Diego's Planning Commission and the City Council's Land Use and Housing Committee will meet Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Council chambers to discuss parking issues.  Among those are the current requirements for parking in affordable housing communities.  SDHF will make a presentation to the Joint Committee calling for specific changes in the regulations. SDHF members are urged to attend. A parking study of peak parking use has been conducted over the last several months and is the basis for the recommendations. Local Projects Awarded CDLAC Allocations

 
The California Debt Limit Allocation Committee announced bond allocations this week to three projects in San Diego County.  They included:
  • Oxford Terrace Apartments, Chula Vista   $4,672,048
  • Villa Nueva Apartments, San Diego    $37,500,000
  • City of Oceanisde Mortgage Credit Certificate Programs    $661,777

Deadline Extended for Conference Proposals

 
The deadline for submitting proposals and topics for the Federation's Annual Affordable Housing Conference October 12 has been extended to noon on Tuesday, July 31. Please email Kelley Dukat at Kelley@housingsandiego.org if you will sending a submission by Tuesday. Use use this form for submissions.
 

Eight Projects Request $10.8 Million

 
Eight San Diego County Projects have applied for more than $10.8 million in tax credits in the second round of the Calfornia Tax Credit Allocation
Committee's applications.  Two of the projects are intended for seniors and the rest for large families.  They are located in Escondido, Lemon Grove, San Diego, Chula Vista, and San Ysidro and represent 484 new affordable units. State-wide there were 110 applications for 9% tax credits and seven for 4% credits and state credits. To see the list of applicants, click here.
