One Project Of Three Awarded 9% Tax
Credits
La Entrada Family Housing in Barrio Logan was
awarded $20 million of 9% low income housing tax credits
during the first round of 2007. The $37.9 million
project will consist of 85 units, with 84
affordable. The San Diego Redevelopment Agency is
contributing $13.1 million. The developer, La Entrada
Housing Investors, L.P., is a partnership of Simpson
Housing Solutions and United Community, Inc. The
managing general partner that will take over once
construction is complete is the Las Palmas Foundation,
an Encinitas based non-profit organization.
Two other San Diego County applicants, Affirmed
Housing's Riverwalk Apartments in Nestor and National
CORE's Mobile Haven Senior Apartments in Escondido, will
have to reapply for the second round. If no others

to meet the requests of these two projects in the second
