County Suspends MHSA

The County of San Diego's Mental Health Services
Act Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Affordable
Housing Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and New
Construction released on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 is
suspended until further
notice. The action comes as the result result of a
California Department of Mental Health Community
Services and Supports clarification notice published on
March 12, 2008. This applies only to applications for
the $3.24 million county NOFA, not the state MHSA funds
through CalHFA.

CCDC Holds Downtown
Parking Workshop |
Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC) is
sponsoring a public workshop Thursday, April 17
from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. focusing on parking management
case studies of other major downtowns and their
potential applications in downtown San Diego.
Input from this workshop will guide CCDC's Comprehensive
Parking Plan development. The Plan will address all
aspects of parking, including on-street parking, public
and private structures, and parking management. The
workshop will be held in the Silver Room, San Diego
Concourse, 202 C Street. Send an email to events@ccdc.com to reserve a
place.

ULI Real Estate School Begins in
May |
The Urban Land Institute Real Estate School will be
held May 28 until June 9 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in
Los Angeles. Several two to four-day courses are
offered including sessions in multifamily development,
construction fundamentals, real estate finance and

Housing Sessions

The California Department of Housing and
Community Development (HCD) is sponsoring a series of
workshops on the application and NOFA for the
Multifamily Housing Supportive Housing Program. The San
Diego workshop will be Tuesday, April 22 from 10 a.m.
until 2:30 p.m. at 1350 Front Street, San Diego 92101.
HCD has changed the format for the new NOFA Supportive
Housing Application Workshop and will have breakout
groups to allow for interaction and questions.
The following day they will offer a
hands-on technical workshop for applications that are in
process. This is the first time HCD has done this
and it is expected to be valuable for anyone planning to
submit an application.

Seminar Offered to Assist
Troubled Mortgage Holders |
|
A "Smart Money" Summit is being held Saturday,
April 12 to assist those in need of foreclosure
assistance, to prequalify those needing down payment
assistance to prequalify for homeownership, and to
provide free tax assistance on the Earned Income Tax
Credit. Sponsored by the City/County Reinvestment
Task Force, City Councilman Tony Young, and County
Supervisor Ron Roberts, the program is free and runs
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the San Diego City Concourse,
202 C Street, San Diego, 92101.
