Nominations Due
Monday
|
Monday is the deadline for nominations for the
Federation's Annual Affordable Housing and Community
Development awards. Please don't forget to
nominate those people and projects that made 2007 an
outstanding year. Categories such as the John
Craven Award to a local government employee, a local
government team, affordable housing advocate, special
recognition, development partners might not be "top of
mind" even though you know some very deserving
candidates. Don't forget to nominate them, too.
This year there is a new category for Lifetime
Achievement -- make sure your mentor, consultant, or
hero is nominated for that category. A typable nomination
form is available -- it will only take a few
minutes to provide the recognition that is richly
deserved.
Sponsorships are also still
available. Remember that this event is the
Federation's biggest networking event of the year and
one that brings the industry out to honor special
achievements and to recognize those who make them
happen. Call Kelley at 619-239-6693.

Ballots In the
Mail |
Ballots for the June 3 election are in
the mail to absentee voters. The SDHF Board of
Directors is urging you to vote NO on
Proposition 98 and YES on Proposition 99.
These are the eminent domain initiatives that are so
important for redevelopment efforts. Among an
array of other policy matters, Prop 98 would also
eliminate inclusionary housing options. For more
information on the initiatives, click here.

The San Diego County Apartment Association is
sponsoring its annual Rental Housing Education
Conference & EXPO June 10 at the San Diego
Convention Center. It is the largest apartment industry
event in San Diego County.
The day-long event invites rental-housing
professionals from every aspect of the industry to
attend free informative seminars and visit the 180+

receive education on how to operate their rental housing
business while learning the latest information and tools
for fair housing, maintaining and
managing rental properties, and
legislation affecting the
operation of rental housing communities.
Exhibitors get into the spirit of the day by
"decorating" their display booths according to the
theme. This year the event sports a Safari theme.
