HCD Releases Final MHP NOFA
for $32 million - SoCal to Get Preferences
Yesterday, the California Department of Housing
& Community Development issued the last NOFA for the Prop 46 Multifamily
Housing Program bond funds. The NOFA is for $32 million. The funds being
offered through this NOFA are available as permanent financing for affordable
multifamily rental and transitional housing developments.
The Department notes that because all previous
rounds have been oversubscribed that they will probably be using a
tie-breaker. They also note that projects in Southern California may be funded
with lower scores than other parts of the state to ensure geographic equity.
Furthermore, there will be an increase of $15,000 in the maximum per
restricted unit loan amount for projects located in Southern California. The
maximum loan amount per project will remain $10,000,000.
Applications are due October 10, 2006. The Loan
and Grant Committee Meeting will be in January, 2007. An application workshop
will be held in San Diego:
