LISC San Diego Roundtable Series Presents: College Student Homelessness

and Housing Affordability

Join us for an important conversation surrounding the results of the #RealCollege survey last month which revealed a stark and startling glimpse into the unmet housing needs of community college students throughout California. Survey results revealed that 60 percent of respondents were housing insecure in the previous year and 19 percent of respondents had experienced homelessness in the past year.

This roundtable will take a closer look at the housing issues college students face, the programs and resources to help meet those needs, and the challenges that persist. Come hear from Sean Elo, Executive Director of the San Diego Youth Development Office and San Diego Community College District Trustee, and Jesús Gonzalez, Executive Director of Wesley House Student Residence on the work they are doing to address student housing instability as well as opportunities to better meet the need.
