  • “Stigmatized individuals are viewed as flawed and dehumanized.”

  • “Religious leaders are finding stories to be more powerful in overcoming stigma than data.”

  • “People don’t become homeless because they are individually flawed. There is a whole system that fails people.”

  •  “Our services are person focused and tenant driven.”

  • “We are not there to tell people what has gone wrong in their lives but the to be curious in how we can help, maintain a neutral and non-judgmental approach.”

  • “Systemic racism is the product of design….The good news - it can be redesigned.“

  • “Data is the guide, not the destination... in creating a just and equitable world.”

  • “Listen to your community - they know what they need -just listen to them.”

  • “Overall, our housing supply is not keeping up with all of the new companies that are arriving in San Diego and the large tech companies growing. “

  • “There are a lot more options besides granny flats. For instance, if you have a two-story house, you can split the home in two and create two units. And, you can do that all day long in this county.”

  • “The amazing thing about building homes, making homes...it unites the tree shakers and the juice makers.”

  • “You’ve got to be willing to feel uncomfortable and be at the edge of change. I urge you to be uncomfortable. That’s where all the possibilities lie.”
