HEAL is on the Move in North County

Since HEAL’s meeting with County Board of Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer, and Co-Chairperson of Affordable Housing Solutions Ad Hoc Subcommittee, in March the HEAL Network had been eagerly pursuing a two proposals put forth by the Supervisor’s office. First proposal included a pilot program in North County to bring 10 social workers who would support homeless outreach in various cities and unincorporated areas in North County. The second proposal was to increase access and enrollment into self-sufficiency programs (such as CalFresh, CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants, and General Relief programs). Both proposals fit well within HEAL’s policy priorities and HEAL members provided feedback on draft proposals to Supervisor Lawson-Remer’s office and submitted letter of support. Both items passed unanimously!

We are making final preparations for the upcoming HEAL trainings in San Diego and North County.
