David's Story

David Bell, a service-connected disabled veteran, found himself homeless in 2019 but turned adversity into opportunity. Unemployed until funding ran out, he discovered a job opportunity as a housing specialist for veterans. With a background in property management, he now passionately serves with PATH, People Assisting the Homeless. Despite experiencing homelessness six times, he embraces the gratitude and resilience that emerged from the struggle, acknowledging the role of pride and adaptability.

San Diego Housing Federation's Homeless-Experienced Advocacy & Leadership Network (HEAL) has transformed his life, enabling him to speak on panels about homelessness. David's journey is a testament to the transformative power of support and determination, and HEAL continues to empower him to make a lasting impression as he advocates for those experiencing homelessness.
